Product Certification & Health Canada Registration
Our suppliers' laboratories are the most advanced in Canada—setting benchmarks for the highest number of methods submitted to meet ISO specifications. Every week, our suppliers spent many many hours to testing and researching so they can bring our customers the most innovative and effective natural health products.
Our health supplement products are not only manufactured in Canada, but also sold in Canadian vitamin and supplements specialty stores. All natural health products must have a product license before they can be sold in Canada. To obtain a license, applicants must provide detailed information about the product to Health Canada, including: medicinal ingredients, source, dose, potency, non-medicinal ingredients and recommended use(s).
Once Health Canada assessed a product to determine its safety, effectiveness and quality, it issues a product license along with an eight-digit Natural Product Number (NPN), which must appear on the label. This number confirms that the product has been reviewed and approved by Health Canada.
The safety and efficacy of Natural Health Products and their health claims must be supported by proper evidence so that consumers and Health Canada know the products are indeed safe and effective. Evidence may include clinical trial data or references to published studies, journals, pharmacopoeias and traditional resources. The type and amount of supporting evidence required depends on the proposed health claim of the product and its overall risks.
